Basecamp Silverton

Hi all! We had our first snow of the season yesterday. It's all gone now! Oh how I envy you there......I love the snow, but, alas, I live in New Jersey, where 1 in. of snow sends everyone into a panic. This is the land of snow sissies!!!!! I can't wait till I retire and move out to Colorado. I will be 61 tomorrow....one more year!!!!!!

I am guessing the temp to be around -20F this morning, does anyone have some numbers. The CDOT weather station has been down for over 24 hrs, and I usually rely on that.

Saturday, December 5th is the 76th anniversary of the 21st Amendment, which repealed prohibition, and the San Juan Grill is throwing a Repeal Day party to honor this momentous day in American history!

With 1930s-era jazz playing, a great selection of pre and post-prohibition cocktails, and a special dinner menu, this is the perfect way to celebrate the freedom we all now enjoy to partake in our favorite libations.

Cocktail service begins at 5pm, with dinner from 5:30pm till 9:00pm.

Well, this is ther first time blogging for me. I just wanted to say how much I love Silverton. I am going to retire soon, and would very much like to relocate to Colorado. I currently live in New Jersey.....enough said! Can someone tell me what life is like for year round residents of Silverton? I have been all over Colorado. I also like Manitou Springs very much. Just wondering if the old webcam picture at KMRC is to be updated or taken off the site?

RPI will be holding its last meeting for the Master plan of 2009 (more to come in 2010!). This meeting will last one hour, from 6:00 – 7:00 pm on Tuesday November 17th, on the Second floor of Silverton Town Hall.

We will take a look at some conceptual improvements for downtown that the designers have developed and, as always, will be interested in receiving public comments on the ideas.

This is an open house event, so please feel free to drop in and out as you please. There will be coffee and cookies, a short introductory presentation to the concepts (from 6:00-6:20) and an opportunity for you to add your comments to the concept boards/graphics.

Basecamp Silverton says VOTE YES on 3A on November 3rd!

Early voting begins on Monday, October 19th at the County Courthouse, or make sure to request an absentee ballot right away!
